"Expressive Drawing to Painting with watercolor/watermedia"

6-Sessions

Fall session runs Oct. 11,18,25  Nov. 1,8,15

This class is an opportunity for those with some drawing and/or painting experience to focus on individual interpretations of subjects in a process oriented approach. A variety of techniques will be reviewed and their implications for compositional and stylistic concerns investigated. One may use watercolor, acrylic, or mixed watermediums for values or color in compositions. A variety of drawing and painting materials will be available and one may supplement those provided as they desire. The class will emphasize line and shapes as structural elements in creating a composition and color and value will be applied to allow for the layering of materials or images, and the flux of change by deconstruction or reconstruction in the process of creating. Participants may work from studio set-ups, instructors references, or individual references or sketches.

$175 (with materials)

Open Studio

The studio will be open saturday afternoons from 1:00-4:00 p.m. for anyone to work in their medium of choice. This will be available whenever classes are in session.

 "Open Studio Sessions"

Interested parties may use the three hour studio times for for just $25 an afternoon. No class instruction is offered, but Betty is available to answer questions and help with ongoing projects. This is a good opportunity for those who want more personal painting time or for those working on class projects. Groups of "painting fellows" are welcome.
